Grand Piano Series presents pianist Nico Namoradze

Pianist and composer Nicolas Namoradze came to international attention in 2018 upon winning the
triennial Honens International Piano Competition in Calgary, Canada'among the largest prizes in
classical music. He was named Young Pianist of 2020 & 2021 by the UK Critics' Circle, and recent album
releases have received extraordinary accolades, including the Choc de Classica, Record of the Month in
Limelight, Instrumental Disc of the Month in BBC Music Magazine and Editor's Choice in Gramophone.
Current activities include recitals at halls such as New York's Carnegie Hall, London's Wigmore Hall and
the Konzerthaus Berlin; festival appearances at Tanglewood, Banff, Gstaad, Santa Fe and more; and
performances with the London Philharmonic and Budapest Festival Orchestra, among others, with
conductors such as Iv'n Fischer, Karina Canellakis and Ken-David Masur.
Namoradze completed his master's at Juilliard and his doctorate at the CUNY Graduate Center. His
teachers have included Emanuel Ax, Zolt'n Kocsis and Andr's Schiff in piano, and John Corigliano in
composition. He now pursues postgraduate studies in neuropsychology at King's College London, where
his research interests include the effects of mental practice and mindfulness on musical performance.
He is the author of the book 'Ligeti's Macroharmonies', published by Springer, and his compositions are
published by Muse Press.
