The Military Heritage Museum in Punta Gorda will host a music event on Thursday, October 10 from 5 to 7 p.m. in the P-51 Club. This evening’s event will feature music from Veterans Initiative for Therapeutic Arts (VITA).
You don’t have to be a veteran to join us, but you do have to purchase a membership All Access Pass for the day. The cost for this event will be a $10 cover charge, which will include beer, wine, soft drinks and pizza.
The mission of VITA is to promote creative writing, musical and visual arts disciplines as a progressive art form and therapeutic outlet for veterans by creating a space where they can experiment with different artistic mediums to potentially help process and overcome traumatic events. Veterans Initiative for Therapeutic Arts will provide therapeutic outreach and esprit de corps for veterans in the community through various channels, including cooperation with local military organizations, as well as local businesses, to promote the literary, musical, and visual arts in cases where government sponsored programs may lack or are otherwise unattainable. You can learn more about VITA at www.vitaarts.org.
The Military Heritage Museum is located at 900 West Marion Avenue in Punta Gorda. For more information or reservations, please go to the website and sign up at www.militaryheritagemuseum.org or call 941-575-9002.
