CHNEP is thrilled to partner with the Charlotte Harbor Environmental Center (CHEC) and Keep Charlotte Beautiful to celebrate the International Coastal Cleanup and National Estuaries Week. It's estimated that by 2050, there will be more plastic debris in the ocean than fish: we're working towards a better outcome by cleaning our lands and our waters in 2019.  We encourage you to bring your own watercraft. We have tandem kayaks available to borrow, please register early to reserve your spot! We'll also have a 'Earth Crew' picking up litter on land. The garbage we collect at this event will be used to create an interactive Marine Debris Sculpture at the CHNEP Nature Festival! If you are unable to participate, please make a point to pick up litter on September 21st. Working together, we can reduce our impact on the environment.
