CDBG FY 2017 ACTION PLAN - PUBLIC MEETING & INPUT
Each year the City holds Community Meetings to obtain the comments and views of citizens, public agencies, community organizations, and other interested parties of Punta Gorda on the development of projects to be funded in FY 2017 with Community Development Block Grant funds. The Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program is a flexible, income-driven program that provides communities with resources to address a wide range of unique community development needs. Beginning in 1974, the CDBG program is one of the longest continuously run programs at HUD.
The CDBG program provides annual grants on a formula bass to local government and States. The overall goal of the CDBG program is to develop viable communities by providing decent housing, a suitable living environment, and to expand economic opportunities, principally for low- and moderate-income persons. In addition to the public meetings we are offering an on-line to garner feedback on Community needs & services such as: housing discrimination, transportation needs, social program, etc.
