Waterfront Development Advisory Committee 2nd Wednesday/Month - 9:00 AM City Council Chambers
The Waterfront Development Advisory Committee is composed of members of the community appointed by the City Council on the basis of experience, involvement in the community, and/or their interest or expertise in marine or coastal environmental matters.
Powers and Duties:
The Waterfront Development Advisory Committee shall make recommendations to the City Council for:
Development of the waterfront as an economic generator for the City.
- Assistance in development of a waterfront overlay zoning district.
- Methods of increasing recreation and business opportunities.
- Provision of a healthy environment and ecosystem.
- Enhancement of public spaces and access to the waterfront.
- Development of a long range strategy to manage development of the waterfront.
- The proper management, use and regulation of the waterfront areas and existing
and future City owned or operated recreational boating facilities adjacent to waterways under the jurisdiction of the City.
- Procurement of grant funding for the betterment and maintenance of the waterfront.
- Appropriateness of new City ordinances or amendments to existing City ordinances regulating the waterfront.
- The education of citizens, boaters and the general public regarding matters 1
through 9.
All meetings of the Waterfront Development Advisory Committee are open to the public. Agendas and minutes of any past meeting are available through the City Clerk's office.
