Board of Zoning Appeals 4th Tuesday/Month - 4:00 PM City Council Chambers
The Board of Zoning Appeals is composed of members of the community appointed by City Council for the administration of matters relating to the application of relief from undue hardships imposed by strict and literal enforcement of the requirements or restrictions of the City's Land Development Regulations.
Powers and Duties:
A. Hear and approve or deny appeals where any person or persons claim to be aggrieved by any order, requirement, decision, determination or action of the Zoning Official or his/her designee in the administration, enforcement or interpretation of the zoning regulations.
B. Recommend to the City Council, upon proper petition, approval or denial of variances from the terms of the zoning regulations as shall not be contrary to the public interest where, in specific cases, owning to special circumstances, a literal enforcement of the zoning regulations would result in unnecessary and undue hardship.
All meetings of the Board of Zoning Appeals are open to the public the current agenda and minutes of any past meeting are available through the City Clerk's office.
